HSA continues strong support for healthcare conference
caycompass.com, 4 October, 2012
As organisers gear up in preparation for the third annual national
20/20 Healthcare Conference, the Cayman Islands’ largest provider
of healthcare services, the Health Services Authority, is once again
pleased to announce its premium sponsorship of the event.
Chief Executive Officer of the Health Services Authority Lizzette
Yearwood said each year the healthcare conference manages to deliver
thought-provoking sessions that stimulate debate and serve to enhance
the strategic development of healthcare delivery in the Cayman Islands.
“This year’s event, under the theme ‘Patient-Centred Care: Achieving
Quality Outcomes’, will be no exception,” she said. “This year’s theme
has particular relevance for the HSA. We are beginning to integrate
the concept of patient-centred care into our practices and procedures
and we are committed to researching strategies that will help us further
in our aims. We are therefore excited to see the selection of world-renowned
speakers to this year’s conference and by the prospect of putting
into action the ideas that we will be hearing about.”
The healthcare conference is set to take place from 18 to 20 October
at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
Ms Yearwood said she was pleased that the 2012 20/20 Healthcare Conference
is such an excellent example of a truly national event coordinated
by a public/private partnership, both locally and internationally,
and she believes that this is the way forward for the betterment of
healthcare services.
“We are certain that the conference will have a positive impact on
the delivery of healthcare services in the Cayman Islands,” she said.
Mark Scotland, the minister of health, environment, youth, sports
and culture, said he is delighted with the continued support given
by the HSA to the conference.
“The Ministry of Health and the Health Services Authority are committed
partners in developing and enhancing the provision of healthcare services
for all residents in the Cayman Islands, and so I am extremely pleased
that the HSA has continued to show its support for the conference
in this way,” he said. “The annual 20/20 Healthcare Conference gives
us all the opportunity to draw from the expertise of local and international
speakers who each put the delivery of quality healthcare at the very
top of their agenda. We look forward to some highly informative dialogue
at this year’s event that will ultimately help shape healthcare strategies
moving forward.”
The Health Services Authority provides healthcare services to both
residents and visitors of the Cayman Islands and is the second largest
employer in the Cayman Islands. It operates throughout the three islands:
Cayman Islands Hospital and four district health centres in Grand
Cayman; Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac and the Health Centre in Little
Cayman.
In conjunction with the Ministry of Health, other sponsors include
Premium Plus sponsor Tenet Health, Health Services Authority, Tower
Marketing, Admiral Administration, AIS, Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial
